Officers from the Damai Cartenz Task Force conducted foot patrols and provided security for Friday (17/7/2026) prayers at the Ar Rochim Mosque and the surrounding Sinak Market area in Puncak Regency, Central Papua. The operation utilized a community-oriented approach designed to protect economic activities and religious practices in the district.
Damai Cartenz Task Force Chief Inspector General Faizal Ramadhani said that securing houses of worship and public centers reflects the institution's core mandate to protect all segments of society equitably.
"The Indonesian National Police, specifically the Damai Cartenz Task Force, are here to ensure that the entire community can carry out their activities and worship safely, comfortably, and with peace of mind," he said.
During the field deployment, security units monitored the commercial market hub before establishing a security perimeter for the congregation at the mosque. Officers engaged in direct dialogue with local traders, buyers, and residents to review neighborhood security conditions and maintain public order.
Local business owners and mosque congregants expressed support for the visible security measures, noting that the routine patrols effectively reduced public anxiety and allowed daily commerce and worship to proceed without disruption.
Damai Cartenz Deputy Chief Senior Superintendent Adarma Sinaga, reinforced that these dialogic patrols serve as vital preventive measures within the operational zone. He said that maintaining an active, collaborative presence in both economic and religious spaces remains central to the task force's long-term regional stability strategy in Central Papua.
