Data Showed 39 People Become the Victims of This Year's Eid

inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Cases of accidents that occurred during the homecoming flow of Eid Al-Fitr in 2022 have claimed dozens of lives. It was recorded that as many as 279 accidents with 39 people died occurred during the Eid homecoming flow. "The data showed there are 39 victims from the 279 incident on the road," explained the Head of the Public Information Section (Kabag Penum) of the Public Relations Division (Divisi Humas) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Commissioner Gatot Repli Handoko, S.I.K., on Sunday (1/5/2022). Meanwhile, 45 people were seriously injured and 362 others suffered minor injuries. Gatot revealed that the total loss due to this unfortunate incident reached almost Rp500 million. Other than accidents, Polri also recorded a total of 18,677 traffic violations. A total of 1,954 were given a ticket and 16,733 were just given a warning. He said that the volume of vehicles heading out of Jakarta had decreased by 4% on D-2 Lebaran, Saturday, April 30, 2022. "There was a decrease of 4% or 217,081 units," he explained.
