Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Detachment 88 Anti-Terrorism (Densus 88), alongside the Jakarta Education Agency and the Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, hosted a film review and interactive discussion of "Jihad Selfie" in Jakarta on Wednesday (19/8/2026).

The event gathered 200 high school student council presidents, educators, school committees, and parents from public and private high schools across Jakarta to strengthen early detection against online radicalization, bullying, and Nihilistic Violent Extremism .

Representing the Directorate of Prevention at Densus 88, Senior Superintendent Moh Dofir said that families and educational institutions serve as the primary defense against youth recruitment.

"Families and schools play a vital role in providing a safe space, attention, open dialogue, and a comfortable environment free from bullying," he said.

Head of the Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Adib, highlighted the necessity of promoting moderate religious understanding aligned with national principles. 

Meanwhile, Densus 88 officer Senior Inspector Agus Isnaini warned how digital platforms, online gaming forums, and social media are increasingly leveraged by extremist groups to groom adolescents through tailored narratives of grievance and hate.
