Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Minister for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Veronica Tan urged the Indonesian National Police (INP) to implement gender mainstreaming as a strategic step to strengthen protection for women and children.

Speaking at a workshop on optimizing police forensic laboratories on Thursday (25/9/2025), she said gender perspectives could start from the Directorate for Women and Child Protection and Human Trafficking. 

“This ensures Polri’s work is not only about law enforcement but also integrated with victim assistance, protection, and recovery, in line with the Sexual Violence Crimes Law,” Deputy Minister Veronica noted, as quoted by antaranews.com.

She emphasized that gender-responsive policies and services are crucial to support vulnerable groups, particularly women and children affected by violence.

Meanwhile, INP Head of Health and Medical Center Inspector General Asep Hendradiana said the workshop aimed to build technical skills in handling and processing biological evidence, an important aspect to accelerate case investigations using scientific methods.
