inp.polri.go.id – The DIY Regional Police managed to secure four suspects for breaking into the DIY Regional Development Bank (BPD) ATM machine in Baleendah, Bandung, West Java, which suffered a loss of Rp43.8 million. The four suspects are DH, 32 from Bogor, DF, 33, from Bandung, T, 36 from Bogor, and W, 31, from f Tanggamus, Lampung. All four of them work as entrepreneurs. The Deputy Director of General Criminal Investigation of DIY Police, AKBP K. Tri Panungko, said they carried out the theft on July 30th, 2022, at approximately 21.00 WIB to 03.00 WIB at 15 BPD DIY ATM in Jogja. Then they continued their act in the morning at 06.00 WIB - 07.00 WIB at two other ATM machines in the Kulonprogo area. After receiving the report, the police immediately investigated the crime scenes and chased the perpetrator. According to him, there are still a possibility of new suspects. "In this case, the victim is Bank BPD DIY. There are 15 ATMs that they broke through in the city. On average, they took Rp3 millions from each ATM machines," explained AKBP K. Tri Panungko at the DIY Police, Thursday. (04/08/22). He explained that of these four suspects, T was the mastermind behind the criminal act, whose job was to coordinate other suspects in carrying out the action. Meanwhile, DH is tasked with finding car rentals and being a driver to ATM machine points. The stolen money is used for personal purposes by the perpetrators and pay for car rentals. Evidence that was secured included selfie-sticks, screwdrivers, ATM cards, and the car used for transportation. "According to the suspect's statement, the money has been used up for sprees and rentals. But it is mostly used for themselves," said the Intermediate Officer of the DIY Regional Police. In breaking into an ATM, the first thing the perpetrator did was withdraw cash with the BPD DIY ATM owned. Cash withdrawals are made by taking the maximum balance withdrawal option.
