inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said that his party will begin to work on the Draft Law (RUU) on Online Transportation starting Wednesday (5/21/2025), in order to accommodate the aspirations of various online motorcycle taxi drivers.
He said this decision was taken after the DPR saw the dynamics surrounding the issue of online transportation. The plan, he said, is for the Online Transportation Bill to be discussed in Commission V of the DPR.
"With various considerations that have occurred and input from related parties including Ojol, the Indonesian House of Representatives plans to create a Draft Law on Online Transportation," said Dasco, Tuesday.
He said that Commission V of the DPR immediately planned a meeting with representatives of online transportation tomorrow. The meeting, he said, is expected to mature the academic manuscript and input from the public.
"We will receive representatives from online transportation or online motorcycle taxis who will provide their aspirations to the Indonesian House of Representatives," said Dasco.
He hopes that the Hearing Meeting (RDP) to be held by Commission V of DPR with the online motorcycle taxi drivers will provide comprehensive input for the preparation of the Bill.
According to him, the preparation of the academic manuscript and the articles to be made in the Online Transportation Bill must be in accordance with the expectations of all parties.
