Inp.polri.go.id - Balikpapan. The Disaster Response Team from Battalion A Pioneer of the East Kalimantan Regional Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Unit responded to extinguish a brush fire in Bukit Cinta Damai, Gunung Sari Ulu Village, Central Balikpapan District, on Saturday (15/8/2026).

Led by Assistant Second Inspector Nauval Abdullah, the team dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the blaze at 2.45 pm. Officers collaborated with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), local fire departments, and neighborhood residents to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading toward nearby residential properties.

"Our presence in the community is aimed at assisting residents and ensuring the situation is managed quickly," said Commander of Battalion A Pioneer Police Senior Inspector Iwan Pamuji on behalf of East Kalimantan Brimob Commander Senior Superintendent Ronny. "Our personnel will remain on standby until the area is completely cooled down."

Joint teams continued cooling operations across the burned perimeter to prevent reignition, securing the area and eliminating further threats to surrounding homes.
