Entering Its 13th Days, Papua Plenary Session Goes Smoothly

Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. The open plenary meeting for the recapitulation of the 2024 election vote count at the provincial level in Papua is ongoing and enter its 13th days, Monday (3/18/2024). Regarding the security situation during the plenary meeting, Papua Regional Police Public Relations Division Chief, Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo says that everything goes smoothly and accordingly. Benny says that on the 13th day of the meeting, there are still regencies or cities who have not completed their plenary meeting process. “According to the report we received for Papua General Election Commission, there are only Jayapura Regency and Jayapura City who have not completed their plenary process,” said Benny on Monday (3/18/2024). Additionally, there are also Jayawijaya Regency, Lanny Jaya Regency, and Tolikara Regency for Papua Mountain General Election Commission. Meanwhile, Central Papua and South Papua General Election Commission have completed their provincial level plenary meeting which goes smoothly. Furthermore, Benny adds that personnel involved in the security operation continue to provide security at the location. “Our personnel presence is to to ensure its smooth and conducive process,” said Benny. Benny hopes that the ongoing plenary process in regencies and cites would soon be completed to accelerate the plenary session in provincial level. (ad/ri/pr/nm)
