Inp.polri.go.id - Padang. Heavy flooding completely halted traffic between Padang and Painan, West Sumatra, on Wednesday night (5/3/2025). 

Koto XI Turusan Police Office confirmed that water levels exceeded 40 centimeters, making the route impassable.

“We urge motorists to be patient, as heavy rain persists and floodwaters remain high,” said Koto XI Tarusan Police Chief Assistant Senior Inspector Donny Putra, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Flooding affected two key areas in Pesisir Selatan. Authorities advised drivers to stop at safe locations and avoid parking near slopes or trees to prevent further risks.

Police officers remained on-site, directing traffic and monitoring conditions. Meanwhile, landslides in Sitinjau Lauik also disrupted access from Padang to Solok.
