Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in 47 villages across eight subdistricts in Southwest Aceh , according to the Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

“The floods affected 47 villages due to intense rainfall,” BPD Aceh Chief Teuku Nara Setia said on Wednesday (5/3/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Floodwaters reached 20–40 cm in most areas, with some locations experiencing depths of up to one meter, affecting 30 houses.

Infrastructure damage includes a collapsed bridge between Lembah Sabil and Manggeng, a damaged embankment in Kuala Batee, and submerged roads disrupting traffic.

The local disaster agency has deployed rapid response teams for monitoring and cleanup, while floodwaters have started receding, allowing some residents to return home.
