Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed that four major rice producers, identified as PT FS, PT WPI, SY, and SR, have been investigated for allegedly violating national rice quality standards through adulteration practices.
“We have officially launched criminal investigations against four major producers,” he said during a press briefing on Wednesday (30/7/2025).
The escalation came after the INP Food Task Force's inspection of 16 large producers, the examination of 39 witnesses and four experts, and the execution of searches, seizures, and police line installations at production and storage sites.
In Riau, investigators uncovered a scheme where rejected rice was repackaged as medium-grade and sold under the government’s SPHP Bulog label. A similar case in East Kalimantan led to the seizure of four tons of rice.
Chief Sigit said that these practices violate President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to uphold food quality and safeguard distribution integrity.
