inp.polri.go.id - The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police have committed to eradicate all forms of gambling in the NTT region. Before there was an order from the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who recently orders all police throughout Indonesia to eradicate all forms of gambling, the NTT Police and ranks have been active in acting against gambling and various other cases, Monday (22/08/2022) "We carry out various efforts, including the development of personnel, public complaint services, and the handling of various criminal cases which is carried out optimally, transparently, and prioritizes justice for the community," said Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Heri Sulistianto. On the other hand, the Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Commissioner Ariasandy, added that regarding the order of Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to eradicate all forms of gambling has been carried out by the NTT Police together with the other polices under their ranks. Six gambling cases were recorded on August 18-20 2022 which was carried out by the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation unit of NTT Police, the Sikka Police, the Ende Police, the Alor Police, the West Mangarai Police, and the Kupang City Police. The six gambling cases that have been successfully uncovered are gambling, lottery, domino, rolling ball, and cockfighting cases with a total of 13 suspects. The arrested perpetrators have been detained at the Police Detention Center (Rutan) for further legal process. "The perpetrators were charged with Article 303 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 10 years in prison," said Commissioner Ariasandy. The Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police also explained that the crackdown on gambling is a form of the Police's commitment, especially the NTT Police Chief, in securing public safety and security.
