Director of Road Transportation Facilities, Amirulloh, said that this activity was carried out in collaboration with the Land Transportation HR Development Center through the Indonesian Land Transportation Polytechnic-STTD. and the National Transportation Safety Commission (KNKT).
"The increasing number of accidents involving freight transport is a serious problem in many countries, including Indonesia. This condition often causes major losses, both in terms of material and human casualties," he said on Monday (12/9/2024).
He revealed that according to data from the Indonesian National Police (IN) Traffic Corps in 2021, there were 21,463 trucks involved in accidents and growing in 2022 with 24,638 trucks involved in accidents.
“For 2023, the number continues to grow to 26,294. Through this data, we can see the increasing number of traffic accidents involving trucks,” said Amirulloh.
Furthermore, he said that in this challenging era, the ability of drivers to maintain road safety is very crucial. Given the current volume of goods transportation and the risk of accidents that often occur.
"We hope that this training activity will not only improve the technical skills of drivers, but also strengthen their awareness of the importance of discipline and caution,” concluded Amrilloh.
