inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government has officially abolished the Class 1, 2, and 3 system within the BPJS Kesehatan (Social Security Agency for Health). Starting in August 2026, all participants will use the Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS).

Although the class system is abolished, participants will still pay the service at the old rates as stipulated in Presidential Regulation 63 of 2022 until August 2, 2026. The government has not yet determined the new amount for the KRIS scheme.

Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that premium rates are expected to remain unchanged. The KRIS scheme is designed with a uniform cost structure to avoid increasing the burden on participants. Implementation will be carried out in stages over two years.

With KRIS, all participants will receive the same standard of inpatient care without distinction of class. This policy is stipulated in Presidential Regulation 59 of 2024.

As of July 1, 2026, late payment fines have also been abolished. However, fines still apply if a participant is hospitalized within 45 days of reactivating their active status.
