inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Serang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in Banten reported that 84 people remain in evacuation centers due to flooding that has not yet fully receded in the Kasemen District.

The Head of the Serang City BPBD stated that as of today, the total number of residents affected by the flooding has reached 6,763, or 2,223 families.

"Current conditions show a receding trend in several areas, such as in Serang and Cipocok Jaya Districts. However, in Kasemen District, water levels are still inundating residential areas at varying levels," said Diat Hermawan.

According to BPBD data, the worst-hit area is the Manggerong neighborhood in Sawah Luhur Village, with water levels reaching 100 cm. This has forced 22 families, or 84 people, to evacuate to emergency tents set up by officials.

"In addition to the flooding, extreme weather also caused the collapse of four houses in Serang and Walantaka Districts. The majority of the damage occurred in the kitchen and living room due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds," said Diat.

BPBD urges the public to remain vigilant regarding weather changes and to always follow official information from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and the Serang City BPBD Call Center to anticipate further disaster impacts.
