Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government has determined that Indonesia is in pornography emergency due to ineffective prevention and handling efforts.

"Currently Indonesia is in pornography emergency, so we need new breakthroughs, particularly in preventing and handling pornography cases in our country," said the Vice Minister of Religion Minister, Saiful Rahmat Dasuki on Wednesday (8/21/2024).

In his statement, he states that the government has formed Pornography Prevention and Handling Task Force through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 25 of 2012.

"In its journey from 2012 to this year, we are indeed in stagnation. Thus, today we are holding a ministerial meeting,” said Saiful.

He reveals that the meeting goal is to perfect the existing regulation where its weak point is how ineffective the task force is.

On the other hand, the Coordinating Minister for Human and Culture Development wants the Perpres Number 25 of 2012 to be revised. This was stated by the Deputy for Coordination of Quality Improvement for Children, Women and Youth, Woro Srihastuti Sulistyaningrum.

“We saw that with the current growing trend of pornography, our existing regulation is not enough. We would also add several ministries/institutions that have not been included in the task force such as Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs,” said Woro.
