Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. Minister for the Protection of Migrant Workers, Abdul Kadir Karding, inaugurated the country’s first Migrant Center at Diponegoro University (Undip) in Semarang, Central Java, on Thursday (26/6/2025)..

“This center provides complete services: from information and soft skills training to language preparation. Everything related to pre-departure is handled here,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The Migrant Center is designed to serve as a one-stop hub for prospective Indonesian migrant workers, offering verified job listings, training programs, and legal assistance. Karding highlighted that a significant number of human trafficking victims—many of whom were scammed by overseas job offers—are university graduates.

To support safer labor migration, the Ministry signed a cooperation agreement with Undip and hosted a job fair on campus offering verified overseas opportunities. The Minister also encouraged universities to offer foreign language extracurriculars, especially Japanese, Korean, and English, to better prepare graduates for international employment.
