Inp.polri.go.id - Bali. Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati emphasized Indonesia's secure position amidst global economic fragmentation during the Annual International Forum of Economic Development and Public Policy (AIFED) 2023 in Bali on Wednesday (6/12/23). "Our economy has sustained a 5% growth over the last eight quarters. We are steadfastly focused on crucial elements to construct a strong foundation, propelling Indonesia towards higher-income status," she stated. Emphasizing the equilibrium in Indonesia's fiscal policies, she remarked, "Indonesia's fiscal policy is crafted to address both short-term challenges and long-term goals." In the domain of foreign policy principles, she emphasized that Indonesia's commitment to a free and active foreign policy plays a crucial role in helping the country navigate and withstand escalating tensions in geopolitical competition. Recognizing legislative accomplishments such as the Omnibus Law on Job Creation, tax harmonization, fiscal transfers to regional governments, and the recent financial sector reform (UUP2SK), she underscored their crucial role in effective policy implementation. She stressed the strategic importance of Indonesia's natural resources in geopolitical landscapes, advocating for policy shifts towards downstream industrialization to counter trade imbalances. While expressing optimism about Indonesia's trajectory to high-income status, Minister Sri Mulyani cautioned against two major challenges. Firstly, she highlighted the looming risk of geo-economic fragmentation fostering distrust between nations, potentially hindering international trade. Secondly, she drew attention to the concerning trend of nations prioritizing individual interests over collective action, posing a tangible threat to global governance structures and international trade.
