inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government expressed its desire to strengthen its digital partnership with the Swiss government.

At the Swiss National Day 2026 celebration in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (7/29/2026), Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid stated that Indonesia's bilateral relations with Switzerland have spanned more than seven decades and encompass cooperation in development, trade, investment, law, and digital transformation.

"We are very open to exploring various innovation opportunities in the digital sector to broaden the horizons of bilateral cooperation. I am fully confident that the collaboration between Indonesia and Switzerland will grow stronger," she said in a ministry press statement confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday (7/30/2026).

She stated that Switzerland is a valuable partner for Indonesia in regular political dialogue and the Joint Economic and Trade Committee.

"Beyond intergovernmental initiatives, our relationship is also enriched by the close bonds between our people," Meutya said.

Meutya stated that the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Switzerland reflects a deeply rooted partnership built on trust and mutual respect.

She further highlighted Switzerland's strategic role as a hub for various multilateral forums in the telecommunications and digital fields.

"Switzerland holds a very special place in my official duties. From the World Economic Forum in Davos to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) platform, to the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), these visits underscore Switzerland's importance to Indonesia's digital diplomacy at the global level," she explained.

Meutya appreciated the role of the Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia in strengthening relations between the two countries.
