Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has concluded a major transnational human trafficking case involving illegal recruitment and exploitation of Indonesian workers in Bahrain.

"Suspect SG, RH, and NH have been running illegal recruitment and sending migrant workers since 2022, making profits of hundreds of millions of rupiah. The victims were promised decent jobs abroad, but in reality, they were exploited and paid less than agreed," said Brigadier General Nurul Azizah, the Director of the Women, Children, and Human Trafficking Crimes Division at the INP Cirminal Investigation Agency, on Thursday (5/6/2025),

The case came to light after a victim recruited through a training center in Bandar Lampung reported exploitation in Bahrain. SG acted as the intermediary with employers, Suspect RH handled passports and funds as the center’s director, and suspect NH managed work documents and departures, according to antaranews.com.

Police seized passports, visas, contracts, bank books, and communication devices. The suspects face up to 15 years in prison under Indonesia’s anti-trafficking and migrant worker protection laws.

Authorities warn the public to verify job offers abroad and avoid unlicensed recruiters.
