Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Security Maintenance Agency assured the public on Friday (15/5/2026), that national security and public order remain stable despite rising global fuel prices and a weakening rupiah.

Officials noted that public and commercial activities across the country continue to operate normally without disruption.

"Currently, public activities are running as normal. There is no fear. This means Indonesia is still safe, God willing," said Commissioner General Karyoto, the Head of the INP Security Maintenance Agency, as quoted by antaranews.com.

He explained that the fuel price hikes primarily impact non-subsidized fuel due to Middle East conflicts affecting supply lines, while the government maintains subsidies for lower-income communities.

To help mitigate economic pressure, Chief Karyoto highlighted a once-a-week work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy implemented for civil servants and police personnel to reduce fuel consumption. He also urged business owners to keep commodity price increases reasonable to avoid overburdening the public.
