Inp.polri.go.id - Cilegon.  Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo advised travelers to plan their trips carefully to avoid peak travel times during the upcoming 2024 Eid al-Fitr holiday. "We should utilize our time wisely and schedule our journeys to avoid the busiest periods of the homecoming exodus. Activities typically done at night could be shifted to daytime," he suggested on Monday (1/4/24). Chief Sigit's advice comes amid a significant increase in travelers compared to previous years. Data from the Ministry of Transportation shows a 65% surge in travelers compared to 2023. "As such, we strongly encourage a safe and smooth exodus, recommending that travelers start their journeys early and efficiently," Chief Sigit emphasized. Chief Sigit, along with Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto and Indonesian Military Commander General Agus Subiyanto, inspected the preparations for the homecoming exodus at the Merak port, Banten, earlier in the same day. "In response to security concerns raised by Minister Hadi Tjahjanto, individuals worried about crime in specific areas during their travels should report promptly to the nearest checkpoint," he said.
