Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo reiterated the police force’s role in advancing food security during a national corn harvest event in Bengkayang, West Kalimantan, on Thursday (5/6/2025), attended by President Prabowo Subianto.

“It is an honor to have the President here encouraging farmers. We are fully committed to helping Indonesia achieve food sovereignty,” he said, as reported by antaranews.com.

The INP aims to cultivate one million hectares of corn in 2025, projecting a yield of up to 10 million tons. In the first quarter alone, 118,975 tons were harvested—up 48.5% year-on-year. In West Kalimantan, new techniques and precision fertilizers boosted yields from 2 to 9.3 tons per hectare, raising farmer incomes from $30 to $240 per month.

The INP also supports post-harvest infrastructure, including 18 new storage facilities in 12 provinces. To secure fair prices, a partnership with state logistics agency Bulog will ensure the government’s purchase of one million tons of corn at Rp 5,500/kg.
