inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto visited the Indonesian Bishops' Conference (KWI) building in Jakarta on Tuesday (11/3/2026) to strengthen cooperation with Catholic religious leaders in maintaining security and public order and guaranteeing religious freedom.

The visiting INP Chief, accompanied by the Head of INP Security Maintenance Agency, Commissioner General Herry Heryawan, the Assistant Operations Officer of INP Chief, Commissioner General Roycke Harry Langie, and the Head of INP Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, was received by the Chairman of the KWI, Bishop Antonius Subianto Bunjamin, and his staff.

Suyudi stated that the visit was part of INP's work program, including the "Love Sunday" program, which aims to strengthen collaboration between community elements and religious leaders.

"We at INP must of course always collaborate with all elements of society and religious leaders, including Catholic religious leaders. Through activities like ‘Love Sunday,’ we hope that cooperation in the field can be strengthened," he said.

During the brief meeting, Suyudi emphasized that the police presence aimed to convey a message of peace and ensure that Catholics throughout Indonesia could live their lives as a nation and state in a safe, peaceful, and secure manner.

The police, he said, guarantees the public's right to religion, as mandated by Article 29 of the 1945 Constitution.

Furthermore, INP Chief stated that he was open to various input, information, and discussions from KWI so that issues on the ground could be handled more quickly, comprehensively, and optimally, providing services and protection to the public.

"Hopefully, what we discussed this afternoon will become a commitment to closer cooperation going forward, so that maintaining public order and security in Indonesia will be more conducive and the public will experience a sense of peace," Suyudi said.
