Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) International Relations Division’s NCB Interpol Indonesia confirmed that foreigner Abdul Karim Raeq Miqdad was deported after being identified as the subject of an Interpol Red Notice issued by NCB Nicosia.

Secretary of NCB Interpol Indonesia Brigadier General Untung Widyatmoko refuted viral social media claims suggesting the government detained a Palestinian activist. 

"He is an Interpol Red Notice subject from NCB Interpol Nicosia," Chief Untung told reporters on Monday (20/7/2026). "He is not an activist, but a perpetrator of terrorism offenses."

Authorities arrested Karim on Thursday and deported him to Cyprus on Friday, according to antaranews.com. 

Chief Widyatmoko confirmed that Karim held a genuine Palestinian passport alongside fraudulent European passports from Cyprus and Norway, which matched records in the Stolen and Lost Travel Document (SLTD) database.

He dismissed rumors claiming Karim would be transferred to a third country, emphasizing that all deportation procedures strictly complied with international security protocols.
