Inp.polri.go.id - Padang. The West Sumatra Regional Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Unit deployed 300 officers to assist with emergency evacuations and disaster relief operations following heavy rainfall and severe flooding across Padang, West Sumatra.
Indonesian National Police (INP) Head of Public Information Bureau Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko confirmed on Sunday (11/10/2026)) that search and rescue (SAR) officers remain stationed on high alert to assist stranded residents.
"The primary priority is public safety, specifically assisting residents requiring relocation from inundated zones to safer ground," he said.
Led by West Sumatra Police Brimob Commander Senior Superintendent Lukman Syafri Dandel Malik, 300 officers were divided into three tactical teams dispatched to critical flood locations: Lumin Park Housing in Lubuk Minturun (Koto Tangah District), Dadok Tunggul Hitam, and Guo Kuranji.
Field reports confirm that joint officers evacuated approximately 300 residents from the Lumin Park housing complex and an additional 30 residents from Guo Kuranji.
Deployment teams utilized specialized rubber boats, outboard motors, life jackets, SAR helmets, ropes, and harness equipment alongside multi-purpose transport trucks, buses, and specialized SAR vehicles. Officers established a central SAR post in Lubuk Minturun to coordinate ongoing search, rescue, and logistics distribution under the "Police with the Community" humanitarian approach,
