Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has prepared three air ambulances for the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year period as part of Operation Lilin to address potential emergencies, particularly in hard-to-reach areas or during severe traffic congestion.
“The air ambulances aim to provide life-saving assistance during the golden hour, ensuring victims receive swift medical attention,” said Senior Superintendent Hery Wiyanto, the INP Security Maintenance Agency’s Head of Training and Operations, in a statement Monday (23/12/2024).
The helicopters, Bolkow and Dolphin models, are equipped with emergency medical facilities and hoist technology for evacuations in challenging locations, such as elevated roads where landing is impossible. Each unit can transport up to two victims simultaneously.
The INP has partnered with 20 hospitals, including 11 in Greater Jakarta and nine in other regions, all equipped with helipads for seamless patient transfers.
Simulations were conducted at the Cikarang Utama Toll Gate, involving coordination between field officers, the Regional Traffic Management Centre (RTMC), and the Police Air Unit to optimize response times.
“This initiative underscores the INP’s commitment to providing rapid and effective emergency services, not just during Nataru but for all operational needs,” Chief Hery said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
