Head of Public Relations of the North Maluku Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Bambang Suharyono stated that the lab test was carried out by the Indonesian National Police (INP) Headquarters and North Maluku Regional Police. After the team from the INP arrived in North Maluku last night, the team immediately carried out the test process.

"The INP and the North Sulawesi Regional Police forensic team arrived last night at around 10 am Eastern Indonesian Time, and are currently still working on the case," he said on Tuesday (10/15/2024).

He explained that so far, examinations have been carried out on 18 witnesses.

"Both from the crew, then from several surviving passengers, then from the community around the location of the incident, and the port authorities, both Teronate and Paliabu," he said.
