Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has revealed findings on the vulnerabilities of the 2024 Elections obtained during the period of August 2018 to March 2023.
"The findings of hoax issues from August 2018 to March 2023 totaled 11,357 contents," stated Police Senior Superintendent Erdi Adrimulan Chaniago, the Head of the Monitoring and Analysis Department of INP Public Relations (PR) Division, during the Thematic Forum on Public Communication held by INP PR Division on Tuesday (27/6/23).
Undoubtedly, he said, hoaxes are one of the vulnerabilities of the 2024 Elections that must be anticipated in terms of their dissemination. Therefore, the PR Division continuously strives to provide social media literacy and intelligent socialization.
Furthermore, in order to oversee the progress of the 2024 Elections, INP has also established the Mantap Brata Task Force, Anti Money Politics Task Force, and Nusantara Task Force. Various mitigations are being implemented, ranging from issues related to ethnicity, religion, and race (SARA), hoaxes, to addressing instances of misconduct by individuals involved in safeguarding the democratic process.
"We have also engaged in various collaborations with relevant agencies and signed memorandum of understanding to strengthen synergy in ensuring a safe and peaceful 2024 Elections," he said.
