Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)-run Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG) in Pejaten, South Jakarta, launched its first buffet-style Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program at SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 1 in South Jakarta on Wednesday (22/4/2026).
This trial was a shift from standard meal distribution to a self-service system designed to improve student discipline and nutritional intake.
“This buffet model is incredibly beneficial. The students experience a sense of togetherness, and it helps those who did not have time for breakfast,” said Muryanto, the Principal of SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 1, in a statement, as cited by antaranews.com..
Head of INP SPPG Pejaten Muhamad Iqbal Salim explained that the system uses standardized measuring spoons supervised by nutritionists to ensure balanced portions. This approach aims to reduce food waste by allowing students to adjust their portions while maintaining order.
The results of this simulation will be evaluated to determine if the buffet system will be permanently implemented for future police-led nutrition programs.
