inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of Drug Crimes of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Unit held a meeting with the Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit (JSJN) of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM). The meeting discussed a number of agreements, one of which was about drug fugitives in the neighboring country.

"We discussed the problem of our fugitives in Malaysia and Malaysian fugitives in Indonesia," said the Director of Drug Criminal Investigation Brigadier General Mukti Juharsa, on Thursday (11/28/2024).

According to the Director, the bilateral meeting also discussed anticipating drug entry routes. Especially regarding crystal methamphetamine via the Golden Triangle via Malaysia.

"We agree to close all entry routes from both Sumatra and Kalimantan," he said.

He emphasized that both parties will work together to conduct surveillance and then make arrests. INP is allowed to come to Malaysia to conduct surveillance on fugitives in Malaysia and will receive assistance.

Likewise with Malaysian fugitives in Indonesia, INP will help to conduct surveillance in the region so that they can be revealed.

"What is important is that we have the names, we have given them to Malaysia, Malaysia will conduct surveillance first. After we receive the confirmation, we will then be summoned to make arrests there," he explained.
