Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) is preparing strict security measures to manage public enthusiasm across the country ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Security operations will be intensified at regional and local levels, specifically targeting crowded public screening locations, known locally as "nobar."
"The INP is obligated to provide security for the public's enthusiasm, which we will use as a reference for our security planning," said Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the Head of the Public Information Bureau, during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (7/6/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
He noted that police would collaborate with TVRI, the official broadcaster, to coordinate safety at both commercial and non-commercial venues.
Authorities also warned the public to remain vigilant against ticket fraud and online gambling throughout the tournament, which begins in June. Officials urged citizens to enjoy the festivities while maintaining public order, promising that police presence will ensure safety during the high-profile global sporting event.
