Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) have been preparing for the smooth flow of traffic during the annual Eid al-Fitr holiday homecoming in 2024, employing strategies similar to previous years.
Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the INP Relations Division, outlined the measures, explaining that traffic diversions will be situational and dynamic, starting around 4 April 2024, antaranews.com reported.
The traffic management plan includes one-way systems, contraflow, and the possibility of implementing odd-even traffic schemes if vehicle numbers exceed limits. This plan has been formalized in a Joint Decree (SKB) involving the INP Traffic Directorate, the Ministry of Transportation, and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing.
Contraflow will be implemented from KM 36 in Cikampek, while the one-way system will start from KM 72 on the Cipali Toll Road to KM 414 on the Kalikangkung Toll Road.
Chief Trunoyudo emphasized that these measures are based on evaluations and analyses from previous operations, considering an estimated 123 million movements during the holiday period. For the 2024 Eid holiday, a 5-6 percent increase in movements is predicted, totaling an estimated 136.7 million movements.
For this year's Eid homecoming, the INP advised against using motorcycles due to the high risk of traffic accidents.
