Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) have questioned three Indonesian Military (TNI) soldiers suspected of involvement in an inter-provincial firearms trafficking network supplying weapons to the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua.

According to Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, the Head of Damai Cartenz Operations 2025, the three soldiers, identified by the initials RBS, YR, and SS, were questioned on 21 March 2024 as witnesses in the ongoing investigation into seven civilians who have already been named suspects.

The investigation revealed that suspect RBS was responsible for multiple arms sales to suspect Teguh Wiyono. In November 2024, one M16 rifle was sold for Rp 30 million. In December 2024, two SS1 rifles supplied by suspect YR were sold for Rp 60 million. In January 2025, two SS1 rifles, five SS1 barrels, and 280 rounds of ammunition, supplied by YR and SS, were sold for Rp 62 million. In February 2025, one FN pistol supplied by suspect SS was sold for Rp 22 million.

Chief  Faizal clarified that the INP’s role is limited to questioning the three TNI personnel as witnesses for the case against seven civilians, while the soldier’ case will be handled by Siliwangi Military Command.

“We from the INP did the questioning to strengthen the case against the seven civilians who have been named suspects,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

As of 20 March 2025, a total of 10 suspects have been taken into custody, including the three TNI soldiers. Further confrontational questioning between suspect Teguh Wiyono and suspect YR is scheduled to be conducted by East Java Police (Polda Jatim).
