Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Criminal Investigation Agency uncovered an illegal nitrous oxide (N2O) production facility in North Jakarta on Tuesday following a surge in substance abuse cases.
Undercover investigators tracked the "Whip Pink" brand after a sting operation revealed that the distributor, PT SSS, operated without legal permits or food and drug certifications. The raid uncovered massive machinery used to refill industrial canisters into smaller retail tanks, which were then distributed across 16 warehouses in 10 major cities, antaranews.com reported.
"Our investigation revealed that the company implemented a fake business-to-business screening process to bypass safety regulations and continue individual sales," said Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, the Director of Narcotics, on Wednesday (15/4/2026).
Authorities intensified their crackdown following the tragic death of an influencer in January linked to the inhalation of these gases. Nine witnesses are currently being interrogated, and a joint task force has been deployed to seize thousands of ready-to-distribute canisters. Police are now pursuing the primary organizers behind the nationwide syndicate for violating health and trade laws.
