INP Rescues Thousands of TPPO From June to September

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) the Human Trafficking Crimes (TPPO) Task Force reported that they successfully rescued 2,608 victims. Thousands of victims were rescued after able to uncover 831 cases. the Head of the Public Affairs Bureau of INP Public Relations Division Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan stated that the 831 cases have been uncovered from June 5th to September 10th 2023. “From 831 cases, we have rescued 998 individuals,” quoted from Ahmad official written statement on Monday (9/11/2023). In carrying out their actions, perpetrators lured their victims to work as Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) or Household Workers (PRT). These actions were the highest case totaling 517 cases. Other lures employed by the perpetrators are exploiting the victims as Commercial Sex Workers (PSK), with total cases up to 276. Then there are also offer as Seafarers with nine cases and child exploitation with 69 cases. Ahmad then conveyed the message from INP Chief, General Sigit, imploring the community not to be easily tempted by offers of work with high salaries. Sigit suggest the community to first confirm their labor supply company is official or not, so as their rights are lawfully provided.
