inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (Polri) revealed that thuggery also targeted national vital objects.

Director of Vital Object Security of Indonesian National Police (INP) Security Maintenance Agency, Brigadier General Suhendri said that his party was once asked by the Ministry of Industry to help resolve the problem of 'requesting projects' at a national vital object.

"We were once invited by the Ministry of Industry regarding handling the village cooperative that asked a company to participate in managing B3 waste (hazardous and toxic materials) at a national vital object," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday (5/27/2025).

In his statement, Suhendri says that the cooperative could not possibly meet the requirements for managing the B3 waste. However, the cooperative continued to insist on being able to manage the waste project.

Due to this issue, the company reported the case to the police.

Suhendri said that the problem could have been prevented from the start if companies that are national vital objects implement a Security Management System (SMP).

This is stated in Presidential Decree Number 63 of 2004 concerning Security of National Vital Objects.

However, of the 1,997 national vital objects recorded by INP, only 80 companies have collaborated with the Bhayangkara Corps in terms of SMP certification, making the rest vulnerable to thuggery.

Therefore, INP encourages national vital objects to build SMP so that they can carry out early prevention and mitigate greater losses.
