Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police International Relations Division is processing an Interpol Red Notice for cleric Ahmad Al Misry, known as Ustadz SAM, after he was named as a suspect in a sexual abuse case.
The request is currently being filed through the Interpol portal to facilitate the international search for the cleric.
"The Red Notice application is in process through the Interpol portal," said Senior Superintendent Ricky Purnama, the Head of the Transnational and International Crimes Division at the NCB Interpol Indonesia, on Friday (8/5/2026), as cited by antaranews.com..
He confirmed that Al Misry is a naturalized Indonesian citizen through marriage, adding, "We are also communicating with Egyptian authorities to validate his citizenship status there."
The INP named SAM a suspect following reports filed in November 2025. The cleric stands accused of the alleged sexual abuse of five male students. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding his current whereabouts or specific evidence in the ongoing investigation.
