inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of Certain Crimes of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Unit has confirmed that it will investigate the nickel mining case in Raja Ampat, Southwest Papua.

The investigation will target four companies whose Mining Business Licenses (IUP) were revoked by the government. The four companies are PT Anugerah Surya Pratama, PT Nurham, PT Melia Raymond Perkasa, and PT Kawai Sejahtera Mining.

"The investigation is still ongoing and it is still within the law. No law prohibits us from conducting the investigation" explained the Director of Certain Crimes, Brigadier General Nunung Syaifuddin, Wednesday (6/11/2025).

He explained that so far there have been allegations of environmental damage due to mining activities in Raja Ampat, Southwest Papua.

"That's why there are regulations for reclamation, and there is an obligation for entrepreneurs to provide reclamation guarantees," he said.
