inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo requested that all public complaints and suggestions be promptly followed up and analyzed as an early warning system to strengthen Polri's reforms.
The INP Chief delivered this directive at the 2026 National Police Commission (Kompolnas) Awards event on Thursday (9/17/2026).
According to him, the development of social media and the era of citizen journalism has made information and public aspirations spread more rapidly. At the same time, public expectations for the responsive, transparent, and accountable implementation of police's duties continue to rise.
This situation must be addressed by better professionalism, stronger integrity, and improved quality of public service.
"Every public suggestion and complaint needs to be followed up quickly and appropriately, not only to resolve the problems that arise, but also to analyze it as an early warning system," said General Sigit.
Analysis of complaints is necessary to identify patterns and potential recurring problems. The results can be used for evaluation and overall organizational improvement.
In this context, Kompolnas holds a strategic position as a bridge between Polri and the public. The various complaints, aspirations, and public expectations received by the Kompolnas can be translated into concrete input to improve police performance.
"Kompolnas is tasked with supervising, providing strategic input and suggestions, and receiving complaints from the public to be forwarded to us for improvement," said Sigit.
He added that Kompolnas's monitoring results and recommendations need to be synergized with those of the INP's General Supervision Inspectorate, the INP's Professional and Security Division, and other related functions.
This collaboration is necessary so that external and internal oversight mutually reinforce each other. Every follow-up must also be monitored concretely and measurably so that it does not stop at issuing recommendations.
In addition to identifying shortcomings, supervision needs to be directed at identifying positive performance worthy of appreciation and exemplary performance. This spirit is embodied in the 2026 Kompolnas Awards.
"Kompolnas does not stop at evaluation, but also assesses work units. Today, awards are given not only to work units, but also to personnel," said the National Police Chief.
The INP Chief hopes that the units and personnel receiving the awards can serve as role models for other ranks. Innovations and best practices that have been implemented need to be documented, developed, and implemented according to the needs of each region.
