Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has uncovered 17 cases of fuel fraud from January to March 2024.
Out of the 17 cases, 67 suspects, including operators, managers, and owners, have been arrested for violating Law Number 22 of 2021 on Oil and Natural Gas as well as Law Number 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection. regarding fuel and consumer protection,
Brigadier General Nunung Syaifuddin, the Director of Specific Crimes at the INP Criminal Investigation Agency, revealed on Thursday (28/3/2024) that the cases involved fraudulent practices by four gas stations in Depok, Tangerang, and West Jakarta.
The suspects altered subsidized-fuel Pertalite to Pertamax by mixing it with coloring agents.
Chief Nunung said that this fraudulent practice was a new modus operandi, causing harm to the public.
