inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Indonesian National Police (INP) rejected the claim of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) over the killing of an Indonesian Army soldier and a police officer, who were thought to be spies, in Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua.

"That is a hoax that they are spreading," said Chief of the Public Relations Department of the Papua Police Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo on Sunday (5/2/23).

He added that the KKB shot a civilian identified as Saharuddin on Monday (30/1/23). However, the victim escaped fatality.

"Saharuddin is safe. He has undergone surgery to remove the projectile. The surgery was successful and he is currently undergoing medical treatment at the Nabire Hospital," he said.
