inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo says that nickel mining in Raja Ampat, Southwest Papua, is under the investigation of the police.

General Sigit that he has deployed a team to the location to follow up on the allegations of criminal actions on the mining activity.

Furthermore, he explains that the investigation is being carried out along with the related parties and stakeholders.

“What’s certain is that our unit is working with the related ministries to further investigate this case to its root,” says INP Chief at The Tribrata, South Jakarta, Thursday (6/12/2025).

It was reported that the Certain Crimes Investigation of INP was tasked to investigate the case. The investigations were conducted on four mining companies whose Mining Business Licenses (IUP) were revoked by the central government.
