Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Governor Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor Rano Karno acknowledged on Friday (20/2/2026) that Jakarta’s chronic issues of flooding, traffic congestion, and poverty remain unresolved following their first year in office.
Speaking at an anniversary event titled "One Year Building Jakarta from Below," they admitted that while foundation-laying is underway, basic urban problems continue to burden the capital’s residents.
"Fundamental issues like congestion, floods, and pollution persist; our goal is to at least minimize their impact from current levels," Governor Pramono said, as cited by antaranews.com.
Deputy Governor Rano Karno added that the administration has completed 97% of its 40 "Quick Win" programs, yet emphasized that 2026 marks the critical phase for full-scale budget execution.
To tackle flooding, the Jakarta administration has initiated land acquisition for Ciliwung River normalization, calling for public cooperation. Regarding traffic, the administration plans to expand public transport fleets and strengthen the Transjabodetabek network to alleviate peak-hour density across the greater metropolitan area.
