Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A joint team from the Damai Cartenz Task Force and Puncak Jaya Sub-regional Police arrested an armed criminal group (KKB) member involved in an illegal firearms and ammunition network in Puncak Jaya, Central Papua, on Thursday.
Head of Public Relations for the Damai Cartenz Task Force Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo confirmed that the suspect, identified by the initials KK (33), was arrested in Usir Village, Mulia District.
"Suspect KK was on the wanted list) regarding alleged severe assault and attempted rape against victim ZHP on 8 November 2024, in Muliambut Village, Mulia District, as well as involvement in a firearms and ammunition network," he said on Friday (23/10/2026).
Investigators are probing the suspect's possible link to firearms trafficking for the KKB Kodap III Ndugama faction led by Egianus Kogoya. In addition, suspect KK is allegedly involved in a 2025 motorcycle robbery targeting a motorcycle taxi driver and an August 2026 theft resulting in losses of Rp 100 million, according to antaranews.com.
