inp.polri.go.id - The Head of the South Sulawesi Regional Police (Kapolda Sulsel), Inspector General Drs. Nana Sujana, M.M., with the Regent Drs. H. Iksan Iskandar, M.Sc., monitored the program of a Million Vaccinations of Second and Third Dose in the courtyard of the Ministry of Religion in Jeneponto Regency, on Saturday (23/04/22). Kapolda Sulsel said that vaccines are very important to further increase immunity for the community. "We all have to stay healthy to live our lives during the Covid-19 pandemic. If we get vaccinated, our immunity will be higher and reduce the risk of fatalities," said Kapolda Sulsel. According to him, the vaccination for the third dose in South Sulawesi is still very low, for this program is expected to increase the targets of the second and third dose jabs. "Currently, for South Sulawesi, our first dose vaccination has reached 88.3 percent, while the second dose jabs are still around 63.75 percent, and the booster only reached 6 percent. It's still too low," said Kapolda Sulsel. Kapolda Sulsel hoped that the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) in Jeneponto would continue to encourage the vaccination efforts. "The target of the Central Government is that we must achieve a minimum of above 90 percent, for Jeneponto. Based on the data that we have, the first dose vaccination is only around 86.14 percent, the second dose is 50.82 percent and the third dose is only 2.29 percent," said The Two-Star General. Meanwhile, the Regent of Jeneponto expressed his gratitude to Kapolda Sulsel, who cares about the health of the people of South Sulawesi, especially the people of Jeneponto. "If I remember correctly, Kapolda has come to Jeneponto four times to carry out the vaccination, this means that Kapolda really cares about the health of the Jeneponto people," explained the Regent of Jeneponto.
