Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed on Sunday (28/7/2024) that winners of the INP Chief (Kapolri) Cup Badminton Championship 2024 have the opportunity to compete in national and international tournaments.

The Kapolri Cup, held from 22 to 27 July 2024 is recognized by the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) as a key event for athlete development. 

“This tournament provides points and national rankings, which are crucial for advancing to higher levels in national and international competitions,” Chief Sigit said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The championship featured 1,038 participants, including 480 from general categories and 558 from the INP teams. Winners received medals, certificates, and prize money, with top performers eligible for PBSI rankings and future competitions.

Inspector General Argo Yuwono, the Kapolri Cup organizer, emphasized the collaboration between Polri and PBSI to nurture young talent and expand badminton's reach throughout Indonesia.

The closing ceremony was attended by top police officials and renowned Indonesian badminton doubles athletes, Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan.
