Inp.polri.go.id  - Jayapura. The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) launched an attack on a church congregation in Borme District, Bintang Mountains Regency, during their Sunday worship service, around 11 am local time.

According to Superintendent Dr. Bayu Suseno, the Damai Cartenz  Task Force 2024 Operation Head of Public Relations, the incident unfolded when four KKB members approached the congregation, wielding firearms. 

They threatened and robbed worshippers of their electronic devices.

Following the robbery, which included seizing cell phones and a laptop, the KKB proceeded to the school complex, causing teachers to flee in fear towards the forest for safety. 

There have been no reported casualties from the incident.

Healthcare workers, who are also members of the church in Borme district,  also sought refuge at the house of the Head of the Community Health Center in Borme District.
