KKB Member Kobuter's Criminal Activities Revealed, Intensive Probe Underway

Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The investigation process against a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) Alenus Tabuni alias Kobuter, under the leadership of Goliath Tabuni, is ongoing. Initially apprehended by the Operations Damai Cartenz 2024 Task Force on February 18, 2024, in front of the Ilaga District Health Center in Puncak Regency, Kobuter has since been transferred to Mimika Regency from Ilaga via PK-NGA Caravan aircraft on Thursday (22/2/2024). Police Superintendent Bayu Suseno, Head of Task Force's Public Relations, mentioned that upon arrival at 8.15 am Kobuter was escorted by personnel from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Puncak Sub-Regional Police. An intensive examination by the Investigative Unit of the Task Force is currently underway in Timika to uncover Kobuter's criminal activities. "This is essential to ensure accountability and justice for the victims," he said. Kobuter has been linked to various criminal incidents in Puncak Regency, including: 1. February 11, 2021: Burning of a PT. Unggul base camp in Jenggerpaga Village, Ilaga District. 2. April 14, 2021: Shooting of a motorcycle taxi driver named Udin near Eromaga Village Hall, resulting in his death. 3. April 24, 2021: Assault on the Chief of Gome District named Nius Tabuni. 4. May 3, 2021: Shooting of Indonesian Military members in Undome Village, Gome District, with the victim surviving. 5. May 9, 2021: Burning of tourist buildings around Aminggaru Airport. 6. May 11, 2021: Attempted arson of a truck near Aminggaru Airport, which was unsuccessful. 7. June 3, 2021: Shooting of Habel Alengpen, resulting in his death, and destruction of houses and facilities at Aminggaru Airport. 8. August 16, 2021: Armed clash with Indonesian Military members in Welenggaru and Kugibur Villages. 9. August 18, 2021: Armed clash with Indonesian Military members in Mundidok and Tuanggi Villages, with no casualties. 10. February 4, 2024: Another shootout with Indonesian Military-and INP personnel at the PT. Unggul area, with no casualties. He urged the public to remain composed and trust in the efforts of the security forces against KKB criminality, citing community support and cooperation are vital for fostering safety and peace in Papua. "The Operations Damai Cartenz 2024 Task Force remains committed to relentlessly pursuing KKB crimes. We urge public support for law enforcement to ensure security and prosperity," he concluded.
