The Jambi Regional Police, along with the Jambi High Court, the Jambi High Prosecutor's Office, and the Jambi Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections, strengthened collaboration in supporting digital transformation in law enforcement by holding a Coordination Meeting and signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on Electronic Criminal Trials.
The event took place on Monday (August 31, 2026) at the Jambi High Court Auditorium.
During the event, the parties discussed the readiness and steps for implementing electronic criminal trials, including aspects of information technology facilities and infrastructure, data security and protection, human resource readiness, and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
In his remarks, the Chief Justice of the Jambi High Court emphasized that the use of technology in the judicial process must ensure the quality of case examinations and not diminish the rights of the parties, including witnesses and victims. Electronic trials must also maintain the essence of fair, professional, and accountable justice.
Jambi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Krisno H. Siregar, through the Head of Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Erlan Munaji, stated that the collaboration is a strategic step to strengthen coordination between law enforcement agencies while simultaneously supporting a more effective and adaptive law enforcement process to technological developments.
"The Jambi Regional Police fully supports the implementation of electronic criminal trials. This digital transformation must provide convenience and efficiency in the law enforcement process, while still prioritizing the principles of justice, professionalism, data security, and the fulfillment of the rights of all parties involved in the judicial process," said Erlan.
According to him, the success of the electronic trial system implementation depends not only on the availability of technology, but also on the readiness of personnel to operate the system.
“That’s why collaboration, improved personnel competency, the preparation of facilities, and continuous evaluation becomes the key in this process. We, along with related stakeholder, will continue to maintain coordination so that this cooperation can run optimally,” Erlan continued.
